Imagine you get two emails

Both are trying to pitch you a service.

Email #1:

Hi friend. Plz hire me. I very good porject consultant. I make you lots of mony. You can trust. Michael, friend of you (CPA) tell me to write. I'm da best for this task. I give you good deal.

Email #2:

Hi there. I hope this finds you well. My name's Dillon and I'm a project consultant. Sorry to write you out of the blue but a mutual friend of ours (Michael, your CPA) gave me your contact information. I'm confident I can help you and we can come to an agreement that makes us both very happy.

Which one would you trust more?

Obviously, #2.

I used to be in your exact situation.

When I came to the US in 2014 to study acting, I had a very noticeable accent. I'm German. If you're not aware, Germans are notorious for having particularly unpleasant accents. People make fun of us on TV and in movies all the time. To our faces too! It's definitely not considered a 'sexy' accent, that's for sure.
